How One Single Palm Created a Paradise
It was a single majestic palm, standing alone on the beach and swaying in the breeze, that first caught the eye of Palmasola’s owner. Now two decades on, that palm welcomes our guests to Palmasola’s stunning beachfront retreat, a place of transformative travel and luxurious escapes.
Searching for Paradise
In the early 2000s, a global search for a beachfront vacation home took our owner to the shores of the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, and Tahiti. It was on a visit to the Four Seasons Punta Mita that he gazed down the beach and saw one very beautiful palm beckoning him. Immediately he knew he’d found the place. It wasn’t long before that one hundred meters of beachfront property, with its alluring palm, was under his care.
Designing Opulence and Comfort
After interviewing the best of the best in Pacific Coast Architecture, Manolo Mestre was chosen to realize the dream of Palmasola. The passion and intimacy in his home designs for discerning clients such as Francis Ford Coppola and heiress Isabel Goldsmith, marked him as the perfect steward for this new sanctuary on Punta Mita’s sunset facing shores.
No expense was spared. Structural engineers and landscape architects were flown in from the U.S. and Juan Collignon assisted Mestre with the architecture. A Mexico-wide search for the best landscaping materials netted over 500 trees for the gardens.
Mestre’s village-like design created a space to bring together large groups of friends while still offering an abundance of small private enclaves. And, world-class, Mexico City interior designers, Erika Krayer and Ofelia Uribe, fashioned timeless interiors and curated handmade pieces to live in symphony with the natural environment.
The Guests Arrived
Palmasola was originally a private home. However, as friends experienced its opulence, they requested to stay with their own friends and family and it was decided that Palmasola would be made available to the most discerning guests. A handpicked team with luxury hotel backgrounds was thoughtfully hired to blend the unique personalized service of a world-class estate with the standards of a five-star hotel.
Twenty Years On
Over the past twenty years, Palmasola has garnered a reputation for being among the finest beachfront estates in the world. We have welcomed thousands of guests, who return repeatedly after discovering there is no place quite like Palmasola.
